Hatching?

Hi again!

So lately I have been studying fundamentals ( I am still fairly new ). I figured I would share my resources and how it's going. First off, I have been using the site ctrl+paint by Matt Kohr. Ctrl+ Paint is a super helpful site, and I have learned a lot. Several subjects Matt teaches are: drawing methods, composition, and basic painting. In his videos he also gives out helpful assignments that really help.

Here is something (not really fundamental), some of you probably know already, that Ctrl+Paint taught me, crosshatching!

Crosshatching is a method of quick shading used in line drawings, and adds a great deal of shape to your drawings. Crosshatching can be achieved by drawing (as the name implies) crossing lines.

the tighter together the line the darker it feels. When crosshatching you must also remember to keep in mind the form (or three dimensional shape) of the object, and to rap the lines around it accordingly.

Hello World!

My name is Nathanael Burks, age 17, gender male ( if you didn't get that from my name )

Welcome to my blog "The Concept of Learning" a lot to do with concept art, concept art is other wise called industrial design. Allow me to explain, industrial design is the designing of a product, to make stuff look cool, and concept art is just a branch off of that, it is the designing of entertainment productions!
Most of the things you see in movies had to be thought up, and that is the designers job. He designs things from hats to building to entire environments. This is what my blog is about: My journey in the learning of concept design, and how I'm doing it.
I will be posting my work, others work ( I'll say when it's not mine ), and the resources I use to learn.

And to make this post a little longer, here is a random picture of me taking a picture of me.  :) :P
